Butterfly Famille Rose Bowl Tongzhi Mark and Period

| The exterior with butterflies amidst pomegranates, flowers and their tendrils in vibrant enamels, the caveto a septre and scroll in ribbons, the base with a six character Tongzhi seal mark in overglaze red and of the period. 6 1/2 in. diam.
Provenance: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania collection. This is a fine example of Tongzhi porcelain as it began to improve in quality following the rebuilding of the Imperial kilns at Jingdezhen in the 1860's.
