Pair of Kinrade Style Bowls Jiajing Mark Qing
Well potted pair of kinrande style famille rose bowls, each with three medallions of floral sprays in famille rose enamels between gilt decorated stylized leaf tendrils and florets all on a rich tomato-red ground, the foot circled with lappets and scrolls in underglaze blue, the interior rim with a diaper band in underglaze blue, the central cavetto with the three friends of winter within a double circle in underglaze blue, the base with a six character Wanli mark in underglaze blue within a circle. Qing. 4 3/4 in. diam.

Provenance: Westchester, New York Collection

Kinrande decorated porcelain with it use of a rich tomato-red ground was made during the Jiajing period and continued into the early 17th C. Highly prized by the Japanese market, many of the pieces were exported to Japan.
