| A large, well proportioned and painted bowl, the exterior covered with an underglaze red ground decorated with a series of mythical beasts all in underglaze blue amidst waves, the sides sloping upward to a band of underglaze blue fretwork beneath an everted rim, the interior with a double band of underglaze blue on a white ground except for the cavieto with an dragon in underglaze blue within a double circle on an underglaze red ground, the footrim banded by fretwork, the base with a six character Qianlong seal mark in underglaze blue and of the period. 8 in. diam.
