| Of elegant form with a deep black ground, prunus branches rising up from rocks, a bird resting on one, as the branch continues to meander up to the ringed neck, around the full length of the vase where a cluster of three leaves sprouting young prunus starts its upward journey, the base with a double circle in underglaze blue. 19th C. 12".
Provenance: Orlando, Florida coll.
It is difficult to locate fine examples of 19th C famille noire vases and distinguishing them from their 18th C counterparts when well done mislead even the most skilled. The shape, painting and patina of the glaze, while 19th C, make this vase a particularly good example.
