Well proportioned and with a rich glaze of both flambe and copper red that rises up from the flat foot to the bulbous body and sloping shoulders to a slightly concave neck where the glaze becomes more flambe and lightens at the mouth rim to a pale white before pouring over into traces of copper red and flambe, the glaze pooling at the foot leaving the base unglazed. 18th C. 9 in. high.
Condition: Perfect. No cracks, chips, hairlines or other damages. Some kiln imperfections on foot as shown in photographs.
Provenance: Manhattan, New York collection acquired prior to 1990.
Flambe bottle vases which were available in the general US market are no longer seen as a result of the repatriation of all Chinese art to China. This is not a modern reproduction as is evident from its provenance and photographs.
