Well potted bottle vase with a grey a crackle throughout, the bulbous body with its shoulders sloping down from the slightly concave neck, a brown wash at the mouth, the glaze pooling perfectly at the foot to reveal an unglazed biscuit on the smooth and rounded footrim, a slight ridge where the crackle glaze begins again to cover the unmarked base. 18/19th C. 9 in. high
Condition: Perfect. No chips, cracks, hairlines or other damages. Slight wear to the wash on the mouthrim as seen in photographs.
Provenance: Hartford, Connecticut estate acquired in 1991.
This is not a modern copy of an 18/19th C grey crackle bottle vase. It is of the period and came from an established American collection. Its dating can be seen in the close-up photography.
