Some 35 years ago Meiping Ltd and its principal began to acquire a broad spectrum of Chinese works of art from exclusively Western sources including private collections, other dealers, auctions, fairs and shows. Some were purchased in New York and its metropolitan areas. Others came from different parts of the United States and Europe. Acquisitions continue to be made from only these sources.
As a consequence, Meiping Ltd is able to vet each piece offered as to authenticity, age and condition. Given the excellent reproductions from China now appearing, a vetted Western provenance is essential.
